As part of our ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community development, Sphinx® Glass recently hosted a memorable plant visit for 13 students from the Faculty of Engineering, Menoufia University. The visit, which took place on Monday, December 16, 2024, aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial practices, offering students a firsthand experience of the float glass manufacturing process.

An Educational and Interactive Day
The students, accompanied by two supervising professors, were warmly welcomed at Sphinx® Glass’s state-of-the-art facility. The day began with a comprehensive presentation about the company and its integral role in the glass industry. This session introduced the students to the fundamentals of glass manufacturing and gave them a detailed overview of Sphinx® Glass’s processes and achievements.
To ensure a safe and enriching experience, the visit commenced with a safety induction, emphasizing the importance of adhering to industrial safety protocols. Following this, the students embarked on a guided tour of the facility, gaining valuable insights into the production cycle, from the initial batch house operations to cutting and storage at the end of the production line.
Empowering Students for the Labor Market
The visit was not limited to knowledge. A highlight of the day was an inspiring lecture delivered by Mr. Ibrahim Gad, Sphinx® Glass’s HR Manager, titled “How to Prepare Students for the Labor Market.”
During the session, Mr. Gad provided practical advice on building a professional CV, emphasizing its role as the “ambassador” for securing interviews and job offers. He elaborated on the essential skills and behaviors that modern employers value and offered insights into navigating the hiring process with professionalism.
By answering the students’ questions, Mr. Gad ensured the session was interactive and tailored to their concerns, leaving them equipped with actionable strategies for career development.
A Deep Dive into Glass Manufacturing
Engineer Mohamed Marzouk, Sphinx® Glass’s Quality System Manger, the key figure in the Sphinx® Glass production team, further enriched the visit with an engaging lecture on the intricacies of the glass manufacturing process. His session detailed the scientific and technical aspects of glass production, offering students a rare glimpse into the challenges and innovations that drive this essential industry.
The students were particularly fascinated by the seamless coordination of processes at Sphinx® Glass, from sourcing raw materials to achieving the perfect final product.
